NAMA strengthens collaboration with NAF to safeguard Nigerian airspace
In a strategic move to fortify airspace management safety and air security across Nigeria, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing its partnership with the Nigerian Airforce.
During a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Airforce Headquarters in Abuja, Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk, the Managing Director of NAMA, engaged in discussions with the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, where he underscored the importance of the collaboration.
Farouk affirmed the ongoing partnership between NAMA and the Nigerian Airforce, recognising the critical role the Airforce plays in safeguarding Nigeria’s airspace.
Expressing appreciation for the existing cooperation, Engr. Farouk also expressed eagerness to explore new avenues for mutual benefit, stressing the pivotal role of strengthened collaboration between the two entities in enhancing airspace management nationwide.
Air Marshal Hassan echoed Engr. Farouk’s sentiments, emphasising the significant impact of the partnership on the safety and efficiency of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
He urged NAMA’s cooperation in achieving the final accreditation of the Air Traffic School Training Centre (ATSTC) in Kaduna, highlighting its potential contribution to bolstering manpower and capacity within both the Nigerian Airforce and civil aviation.
In a statement signed by Abdullahi Musa, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at NAMA, the Agency said its partnership with the Nigerian Airforce signifies a shared commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Nigeria’s airspace.
It added that by fostering collaboration and pursuing innovative initiatives, both organisations aim to elevate the standards of airspace management and enhance the overall aviation landscape in Nigeria.
