NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition Concludes Phase One in Ogun State with Dazzling Performances, Anticipation for Finals

The NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition, in partnership with Darling Hair, successfully concluded its final event in Ogun State, marking the end of the first phase of an impressive showcase of hairdressing talent.

The event, held at Abeokuta’s Asero Garage, witnessed a significant turnout and remarkable performances by stylists, leaving a lasting impression on attendees.

Although the competition initially saw a modest turnout, it gained momentum at the final venue, where a dazzling and fun-filled atmosphere captivated participants and spectators alike.

The stylists who participated showcased noteworthy skills, drawing attention despite their small numbers.

The highlights of the event included the highly anticipated Braid and Flame Retardant Test workshops, which attracted immense interest from braiders and audiences across all three venues.

Day 1 saw activities at Ijebu-Ode’s Akintonde Hall, followed by Day 2 at Owode Isiu Town Hall, and on Day 3 at Lawrence Bank Events Centre, Abeokuta’s Asero Garage.

The first phase of the competition was proudly powered by the Japanese hair giant quality fibre Kanekalon, alongside Darling Hair, creating a unique platform for stylists to demonstrate their creativity using Darling hair extensions.

This partnership has proven to be a significant opportunity for stylists to not only display their skills but also enhance their expertise through the use of top-tier hair products.

With the conclusion of the final event in Ogun State for Darling, the winners are set to proceed to the finals, scheduled to take place in September 2024.

Both NASHCO and Kanekalon have expressed excitement for the upcoming stages, as they eagerly anticipate the final showdown.

The competition, originally delayed due to the #EndBadGovernance protests, was rescheduled to coincide with the second phase X – Pression set to begin in Kwara State.

Despite the challenges, the organisers and partners remain enthusiastic about the road ahead, focusing on empowering stylists and equipping them for successful careers in the hairdressing industry.

Darling Hair expressed their satisfaction with the knowledge and skills imparted during the workshops, which they believe will significantly benefit the stylists as they continue to utilise Kanekalon products, widely available in the Nigerian market.

As the competition moves towards its final stages, the anticipation builds for the upcoming events that promise to further elevate hair creativity and talent across Nigeria.
