NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition Resumes with Flair Across Kwara State

The NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition, in partnership with X-Pression, made a dazzling comeback across three major venues in Kwara State, showcasing exceptional hair styling talents from various stylists.

Models proudly displayed intricate and artistic hairstyles, impressing audiences and judges alike.

The competition, now in its second round, exceeded expectations with stylists delivering outstanding performances.

Their creative mastery has set a new benchmark in the hair industry in Nigeria, solidifying the competition’s reputation as a premier platform for showcasing hair design excellence.

Having successfully concluded in Kwara State, the next phases of the competition are scheduled for Enugu, Abia, Rivers, Lagos, Ogun and Kaduna states.

Each of these events promises to be equally captivating, with stylists vying for a chance to represent their state in the grand finale later this year.

Throughout the competition, stylists were closely observed for their creative flair, particularly in crafting stunning hairstyles using X- Pression hair extensions and other products widely available in the Nigerian market.

The excitement at each venue was palpable, as stylists not only demonstrated their skills but also entertained the audience with vibrant dance routines during intermissions.

The three-day event in Kwara State kicked off at the following venues:

Day 1 at Oyeleke Hall, Olofa Way, Offa, behind Ibolo Bank, after Owode Market.

Day 2 followed at Al-Kareem Event Hall, Oloje, beside Item 7, Air Force Junction, Ilorin, and the final event,

Day 3, took place at Tosfol Events Hall, Asa Dam, Offa-Garage Road, beside Limca Bottling Company, Ilorin.

Workshops held during the events were highly interactive, attracting significant attention from the participants, especially during the Braid and Flame Retardant Test demonstration, which highlighted practical skills and safety techniques in hair styling.

The competition had initially been delayed due to the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests, which disrupted normal business activities.

As a result, the organisers postponed the second phase of the competition from August 2024 to September 2024.

Winners of the competition will represent Kwara State at the finals scheduled for October 2024.

The top winners from each state will receive remarkable prizes, including a 2.5 KVA generator for the first prize, a Suspended Hair Dryer for the second prize, and a Hand Dryer, Hair Curler, and Hair Straightener for the third prize.

There will also be a variety of consolation prizes for other participants.

The NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition provides a unique platform for braiders to showcase their skills and passion.

Beyond the competition, it offers training and empowerment opportunities, courtesy of Kanekalon, the renowned Japanese fibre giant, further elevating the careers of talented stylists across Nigeria.
