The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is set to commemorate its 25th anniversary with a grand symposium, awards ceremony, and gala night on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the prestigious Continental Hotel, Abuja.
The event will celebrate a quarter-century of regulatory excellence and the Authority’s pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s aviation industry.
The milestone celebration will bring together aviation stakeholders, industry experts, and government officials to reflect on the Authority’s journey and chart a course for the future.
Themed “Human Capital Development: Upskilling the Next Generation of Aviators,” the symposium serves as a platform for thought-provoking discussions on aviation safety, technological advancements, and industry best practices.
The symposium will feature a keynote lecture by Captain Samuel Akinyele Caulcrick, former Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria.
His presentation, titled “Human Capital Development: Upskilling the Next Generation of Aviators,” will delve into the importance of continuous training and capacity building within the aviation sector.
Additionally, three panel discussions will address key industry concerns:
Panel 1: Sustaining Safer Skies: The Future of Aviation Safety in Nigeria and Beyond.
Panel 2: Navigating the Challenges of Aviation Safety: Lessons from 25 Years of NCAA Leadership.
Panel 3: Harnessing Technology and Innovation to Mitigate Emerging Safety Threats.
The closing address, themed “Collaborating for Safer Skies: The Role of Stakeholders in the Next 25 Years,” will be delivered by the Director-General of NCAA, highlighting the Authority’s vision for the future.
As part of the celebrations, the NCAA will honour individuals and organisations that have played significant roles in the growth and sustainability of Nigeria’s aviation sector.

Since its establishment 25 years ago, the NCAA has remained committed to ensuring aviation safety, economic regulation, and effective oversight in line with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
The Authority’s continuous improvements and achievements over the years underscore the significance of this landmark celebration.
