NCAT Welcomes New Rector, Expresses Confidence in His Ability to Elevate Aviation Training

The Acting Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Mr Joseph Imalighwe, along with the entire staff, has expressed profound gratitude for the appointment of Dr Ismaila Danjuma Adamu, PhD, as the substantive Rector and Chief Executive of the institution.

According to a statement signed by Dr Jude Amadi, Director of Information, NCAT, the appointment, made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been lauded as a strategic move that aligns with his commitment to placing competent professionals in positions of responsibility.

The statement noted that the vast experience and distinguished academic background of Dr Adamu underscore the President’s resolve to ensure that critical institutions like NCAT are led by individuals with proven expertise.

It further revealed that Dr Ismaila Danjuma Adamu is a renowned academician and an accomplished administrator.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Furthering his academic pursuits, he earned a doctorate (PhD) from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom, with a thesis titled “The Impact of International Air Transport Liberalisation: The Case for Nigeria.”

Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge in aviation management and operations, Dr Adamu has participated in numerous aviation conferences, seminars, and professional training courses.

His credentials include training in Air Transport Marketing at Westminster, the ICAO Trainair Plus Competency Course in Kenya (EASA), and the ICAO Basic AVSEC Course in Bahrain, among others.

Before his appointment, Dr Adamu served as an Aviation Management Resource Person at NCAT, demonstrating a deep-seated commitment to advancing the aviation sector.

His wealth of experience extends beyond aviation, encompassing expertise in land transport management as well.

Recognised as a professional with extensive industry knowledge, Dr Adamu is expected to bring invaluable leadership to NCAT, further strengthening the institution’s role in shaping Nigeria’s aviation landscape.

Describing him as a “son of the soil,” the NCAT community has warmly welcomed Dr Adamu back to the institution, expressing confidence in his ability to drive innovation and excellence in aviation training.
