Nigeria Customs Appoints New Management Team to Enhance Strategic Service Delivery
The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, (CGC) Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has announced the appointment of key members to the management team in an acting capacity, a move aimed at bolstering the operational efficiency of the Service.
This development follows the statutory retirement of several senior officials and underscores the CGC’s commitment to maintaining a robust leadership structure within the Service.
The new appointments are strategically positioned to drive the NCS’s core mandates, including revenue generation, suppression of smuggling, and trade facilitation. Among the newly appointed management members are:
– BM Jibo has been appointed as the Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) overseeing Finance Administration and Technical Services (FATS).
– OA Alajogun assumes the role of Acting DCG for Enforcement, Inspection and Investigation (EI&I).
– IG Umar is now the Acting Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) at the NCS Headquarters.
– OA Salefu has been appointed as Acting ACG for the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC).
– BA Makinde takes on the role of Acting ACG for Human Resource Development (HRD).
– T Bomodi steps into the position of Acting ACG for Enforcement, Inspection and Investigation (EI&I).
These appointments reflect the officers’ exemplary service records and dedication to the NCS, highlighting their readiness to contribute to the Service’s goals.
In his statement, Comptroller General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi expressed his appreciation for the retiring members of the management team, acknowledging their years of meritorious service.
He also congratulated the newly appointed officers, urging them to bring renewed vigour to their roles. “Your dedication and service are commendable, and I trust that you will redouble your efforts to lead the Service to greater heights,” Adeniyi said.
