Nigeria to Host Landmark 2025 International Air Show in Strategic Aviation Partnership
The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and the Nigerian Air Force have announced a joint partnership to host the highly anticipated Nigeria International Air Show, scheduled for 2025.
According to Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister, this strategic decision was formalised during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, at his office in Abuja.
Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar disclosed that the Nigerian Air Force had independently planned an air show but opted to synergise efforts with the Ministry upon learning of its similar initiative.
Recognising the potential of a unified approach, he proposed the partnership, envisioning an event of greater impact and global resonance.
Commending the Chief of Air Staff’s foresight, Festus Keyamo SAN described the collaboration as a pivotal step in showcasing Nigeria’s aviation and aerospace prowess.
“This partnership underscores the importance of synergy in achieving common objectives,” the Minister stated, expressing confidence in the venture’s potential to elevate the country’s profile on the global stage.
To ensure effective planning and execution, an eight-member committee, comprising representatives from both the Ministry and the Nigerian Air Force, has been established.
The committee will oversee logistics, international collaborations, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that every aspect of the event meets world-class standards.
The 2025 Nigeria International Air Show is set to attract key players from the global aviation and aerospace industries, including manufacturers, investors, and regulators.
The event will serve as a platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies, fostering strategic partnerships, and exploring opportunities to advance Nigeria’s aviation sector.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in the country’s aviation and aerospace development, with the air show poised to drive economic growth, stimulate innovation, and enhance Nigeria’s international standing.
The partnership emphasises the government’s commitment to position Nigeria as a hub for aviation excellence in Africa and beyond.
