Nigeria’s Appeal Court Judge, Justice Ikyegh dies at 65
Justice Joseph Shagbaor Ikyegh, the Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Port-Harcourt Division has died at his Makurdi residence in the Achussa Community area of Benue State.
The 65-year-old jurist reportedly collapsed while on a phone call at home, and despite efforts by family members to revive him, he was later confirmed dead at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital.
The Chief Judge of Benue state, Justice Maurice Ikpambese, announced Justice Ikyegh’s demise during a public function, calling for a minute of silence in his honor.
Known for his sound judgments, the late jurist had recently been shortlisted for promotion to the apex court by the Federal Judicial Service Commission.
