NiMet Ranks 10th Nationwide with 82.65% Score in ICPC’s 2025 Ethics, Integrity Compliance Assessment
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has recorded a strong performance in the 2025 Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard (EICS) conducted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), securing an impressive score of 82.65 per cent.
The assessment, carried out by the ICPC between 19 May and 20 June 2025, placed NiMet in the “Substantial Compliance” category and ranked the Agency 10th out of 344 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) evaluated across the country.
The result was formally communicated to NiMet in a letter dated 29 December 2025.
In a related evaluation, NiMet also emerged 11th out of 356 MDAs on the ACTU Effectiveness Index (AEI), with a score of 82.50 per cent. This performance earned the Agency a “Very Effective” rating for the operations of its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU), underscoring the robustness of its internal accountability and oversight mechanisms.
The EICS assessment examined key governance and integrity pillars, including Management Culture and Structure, Financial Management Systems, Administrative Systems, as well as the effectiveness of Anti-Corruption and Transparency Units.
NiMet’s high score across these parameters reflects the strength of its compliance framework, sound governance practices and the effectiveness of its operational systems.
In the letter conveying the results, the Chairman of the ICPC, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, commended NiMet for the structures and processes it has established to promote efficiency, transparency and integrity in its operations.
He also urged the Agency’s management to sustain the standards attained in order to ensure consistency in future assessments and continuous improvement in service delivery.
NiMet reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of transparency, accountability and professionalism in the discharge of its statutory mandate.
The Agency noted that it would continue to strengthen its institutional processes and governance systems in line with national integrity standards, as part of its broader efforts to enhance public trust and operational excellence.
