Port Harcourt II Customs Sets New Monthly Revenue Record with N76.07bn Collection

The Port Harcourt II Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has recorded its highest-ever monthly revenue generation, having collected a total of N76,075,447,369.83 in October 2025.

The Command described the performance as a historic milestone, reflecting the impact of renewed leadership, enhanced port coordination and aggressive stakeholder engagement.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs, Theophilus P. Duniya, the feat was attributed to the deliberate strategic drive led by the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Aliyu M. Alkali.

According to the statement, the success was driven by conscious and continuous engagements with critical stakeholders, including importers, licenced customs agents, unit heads and regulatory partners — a style the CAC has sustained since assumption of office.

The Command noted that the approach has encouraged stronger compliance with international trade regulations, improved facilitation of legitimate trade and boosted confidence in the port’s operational processes.

Comptroller Alkali was quoted as saying the revenue surge demonstrates the strength of synergy, accountability and teamwork within the Command.

“This milestone is a testament to what we can achieve through effective teamwork and dedication to national development. We shall continue to strengthen our system to sustain this momentum,” he said.

The Command added that Alkali also adopted targeted redeployment strategies by assigning officers to operational areas where their skills and experience were most required — a move that ensured optimal manpower utilisation and efficiency.

He also extended appreciation to stakeholders, urging them to sustain the momentum and push for even higher revenue performance in the months ahead.

The CAC emphasised that the Command remains committed not only to revenue generation, but also to facilitating legitimate trade and enforcing compliance in line with Nigeria Customs Service standards.

The Port Harcourt II Area Command stressed that the October 2025 figure is expected to inspire the further strengthening of systems, processes and operational synergy in the region, as Nigeria Customs deepens its revenue contribution to national economic growth.
