Flight operations have resumed at the Port Harcourt International Airport, following a skidding incident involving an Air Peace flight with registration number 5N BRN, flying from Abuja to Port Harcourt yesterday.

A statement issued by the Corporate Affairs Manager, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Henrietta Yakubu, says, “The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has issued a Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) to that effect in line with standards and recommended practices.

The incident, which took place at about 4PM yesterday, sent some shivers down the spine of the passengers and crew members on board the flight, even though there were no casualties recorded.

As a standard practice, a NOTAM was issued by NAMA to suspend flight operations until the runway was cleared.
