The Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU) of the Presidency has lauded the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) for its remarkable achievements under the stewardship of its Managing Director/Chief Executive, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku.

The Authority’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Obiageli Orah, disclosed in a statement that this commendation followed an extensive assessment tour of Lagos Airport led by key officials.

The visit, conducted today, saw Dr. Hendrix Odige of the CDCU, representing the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, and Mr. Haliu Mohammed from the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, evaluating the progress made at the airport.

Accompanied by Mrs. Kuku, FAAN’s directors, and management team, the delegation inspected key facilities, including Domestic Terminal 1 (DT1) and the International Terminals at Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

The CDCU plays a critical role in monitoring the implementation of Presidential and Ministerial deliverables across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), ensuring alignment with the eight Presidential Priorities of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.

The aviation sector is integral to the fifth priority, which focuses on “Enhancing Infrastructure and Transportation as Enablers of Growth.”

Mrs. Kuku provided a detailed presentation highlighting FAAN’s achievements and challenges, followed by an on-the-ground inspection that gave the visitors a practical understanding of the airport’s advancements.

The assessment included reviews of ongoing upgrades and operational efficiencies aimed at improving passenger experiences and operational standards.

Speaking after the tour, Dr. Odige praised FAAN’s leadership, noting its proactive approach to delivering on the administration’s infrastructural goals.

“The progress we have witnessed today reflects a commitment to excellence and a clear alignment with the government’s priorities. Mrs. Kuku’s leadership is commendable,” he stated.

FAAN’s collaboration with Delivery Task Teams (DTTs), a vital component of CDCU’s structure, has facilitated regular monitoring and quarterly reporting of aviation-related projects. This synergy has contributed to the seamless execution of strategic initiatives within the sector.
