President Tinubu Appoints New Leadership for Nigerian Ports Authority
Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has dismissed Mohammed Bello-Koko and appointed Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho as the new Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
The President also named Senator Adedayo Adeyeye as the Chairman of the Board of the NPA.
Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho brings a wealth of academic and professional experience to his new role.
He holds a Doctorate in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University and a Master’s in International Transport from Cardiff University of Wales, United Kingdom.
Dantsoho has a robust background in port management, having previously served in several key roles within the NPA, including Assistant General Manager, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Port Manager of Onne Port, and Principal Manager for Tariff & Billing.
Senator Adedayo Adeyeye, the newly appointed Board Chairman, is a distinguished lawyer, journalist, and politician.
His extensive career includes serving as the Minister of State for Works and representing Ekiti South Senatorial District as a Senator.
President Tinubu expressed confidence in the new leadership team, emphasising the critical role of the NPA in the nation’s economy.
“I expect the new leadership of this pivotal agency to deploy excellence in the discharge of their duties to enable efficient port services and improved industry outcomes,” the President stated.
The appointments are part of President Tinubu’s broader strategy to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Nigeria’s port operations, which are vital to the country’s economic growth and international trade.
