Presidential Airfleet Commander Seeks Strengthened Partnership with NCAT on Commercial Pilot Licensing

The Commander of the Presidential Airfleet, Air Vice Marshal O.O. Oyesola, has called for stronger collaboration between the Nigerian Air Force and the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, in the area of pilot training, particularly in the pursuit of Commercial Pilot Licences (CPL) for Air Force pilots.
AVM Oyesola made this known during a working visit to the Rector and Chief Executive of NCAT, Dr Danjuma A. Ismaila. He was accompanied by a delegation of senior Air Force officers.
The Commander expressed deep appreciation for the longstanding, smooth and mutually beneficial relationship that has existed between the Presidential Airfleet and the College.
He emphasised the importance of continued support from NCAT to expedite the training of Air Force pilots, particularly in obtaining Commercial Pilot Licences that would enable them to operate military civil aircraft in line with national aviation needs.
In response, Dr Ismaila reaffirmed NCAT’s unwavering commitment to supporting both civil and military aviation through the provision of world-class training and capacity development.

He noted that the College remains dedicated to building human capital for the aviation industry with the requisite expertise and professionalism.
The Rector further encouraged more military pilots to take advantage of the post-retirement training opportunities offered by NCAT, including obtaining commercial pilot licences and acquiring civil aviation management skills, which are essential for transitioning into the civilian aviation sector.
“NCAT continues to rank among the best competitive aviation training institutions globally,” Dr Ismaila stated, underscoring the College’s vision of excellence and innovation in aviation education.
The visit marked a reinforcement of the strategic collaboration between the Nigerian Air Force and NCAT, which is critical to ensuring that the nation’s airspace is manned by highly skilled and versatile aviation professionals.
