RwandAir Reaffirms Commitment to Nigeria’s Cargo Market, Pledges Competitive, Reliable Services
RwandAir has strengthened its commitment to the Nigerian cargo market, assuring Cargo Agents of its sustained operations and competitive services in a bid to expand its market share in the sector.
This was made known during a Cargo Agents Workshop held on 17 October 2024 at the Presken Hotel, Airport Road, Ikeja, Lagos, where the airline also addressed concerns raised by agents and outlined plans to enhance its service delivery.
The airline’s Regional Manager, Mr. Dennis Rwiliriza, highlighted RwandAir’s strategic plans to reintroduce a dedicated freighter service on an ad hoc basis to address the current capacity constraints faced by cargo operations in Nigeria.
“While the limited aircraft space and the processing of cargo protocols, especially for dangerous goods, require more time, the introduction of this new service will improve efficiency and reliability in our cargo operations,” Rwiliriza stated.
Emphasising the importance of fostering stronger relationships with cargo agents, Rwiliriza assured the agents that their feedback would be treated with utmost importance.
“The purpose of this meeting is to address any challenges you face when conducting business with us. We are here for you, and you can rest assured that we will act on the feedback you provide to improve our services,” he added.
Regarding the matter of cargo rates, Rwiliriza explained that RwandAir remains mindful of the prevailing market conditions, including competition and profit margins, when setting its rates.
He encouraged agents to communicate with the airline whenever cargo rates appear to be discouraging potential clients, promising to explore possible adjustments for mutual benefit.
The workshop concluded with the recognition of outstanding cargo agents, who were rewarded with gifts for their exceptional performance during the last financial year.
RwandAir’s commitment to delivering competitive, reliable, and efficient services highlights its ambition to further establish itself as a key player in the Nigerian cargo industry.
