RwandAir, Royal Senchi Join Forces with Accra Weizo to Champion Seamless Travel, Tourism in West Africa

RwandAir, one of Africa’s leading airlines, has entered into a strategic partnership with the organisers of Accra Weizo, a key travel and tourism expo in West Africa, to promote seamless travel and regional tourism integration across the continent.
The collaboration marks a significant step towards enhancing air connectivity and tourism awareness in West Africa, as the region prepares to host the 8th edition of Accra Weizo on 27 June 2025 in Ghana.
The annual event, first launched in 2015, is organised by Akwaaba African Travel Market, in partnership with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and the Ghana Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC).
This year’s fair will feature a robust Tour Operators Forum, drawing participation from travel professionals and operators from across West Africa. The aim is to foster deeper collaboration within the travel trade, discuss policy frameworks, and promote hassle-free movement across ECOWAS borders.
RwandAir’s involvement is particularly significant, given its decade-long service to Accra, Ghana’s capital city. Since launching its operations to Accra in July 2013, the airline has continued to serve the route with its Boeing 737, operating three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
The Accra-Kigali route is not only vital for business and leisure travellers but also serves as a crucial link connecting Ghana to RwandAir’s extensive network across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and beyond.
Operating from its hub at Kigali International Airport, RwandAir offers passengers smooth connectivity bolstered by its strong codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways, significantly extending its global footprint.
Within West Africa, RwandAir has also partnered with Africa World Airlines (AWA), a move that has enhanced regional connectivity and opened up more travel options for passengers within the subregion.
“RwandAir’s participation in Accra Weizo further underlines its commitment to promoting intra-African travel and supporting the growth of tourism and trade within the region,” said the organisers.
In another exciting development, the prestigious Royal Senchi Hotel & Resort has also announced its partnership with Akwaaba African Travel Market for the upcoming travel conference.
Nestled along the tranquil banks of the Volta River in Akosombo, the Royal Senchi is widely recognised as one of West Africa’s premier luxury destinations, celebrated for its blend of nature, traditional architecture, and modern elegance.
As a hosting partner, the Royal Senchi will provide a world-class hospitality experience for delegates, exhibitors, and guests at Accra Weizo 2025. Its involvement signifies a strong commitment to the growth of regional tourism and elevating the standard of travel events hosted in West Africa.
The 2025 edition of Accra Weizo is poised to be a landmark gathering of key industry stakeholders, government agencies, tourism boards, airlines, and hoteliers, all united in the mission to unlock the full potential of West African travel and tourism.
Accra Weizo is part of the broader efforts by Akwaaba African Travel Market to integrate West African tourism markets and create a seamless travel experience across the region, reinforcing the ECOWAS vision of regional integration.
