SAHCO Emerges Sole Ground Handler as Tinubu Commissions Ogun’s Gateway International Airport
Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc has strengthened its position as a leading player in Nigeria’s aviation industry, emerging as the exclusive ground handling service provider at the newly commissioned Gateway International Airport in Iperu, Ogun State.
The airport was officially inaugurated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, marking a historic milestone in Nigeria’s aviation infrastructure development and signalling Ogun State’s growing prominence as a strategic hub for both passenger and cargo operations.

Chairman of SAHCO, Barrister Dr Taiwo Afolabi (CON), expressed pride in the company’s pivotal role in the successful commissioning of the airport. He described the development as a testament to the confidence reposed in SAHCO’s capabilities and its consistent track record of efficient service delivery nationwide.

He further highlighted SAHCO’s strategic partnership with Allied Air, a reputable Nigerian cargo airline, noting that the collaboration would enhance cargo operations at the airport.
According to him, the partnership is designed to ensure efficient processing of time-sensitive and high-value goods through the airport’s modern warehouse complex, catering to both import and export activities.
The initiative is expected to significantly boost capacity in key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and e-commerce, thereby contributing to broader economic growth.
During the commissioning ceremony, SAHCO played a central role by providing comprehensive ground handling services, including ramp handling, passenger facilitation, cargo operations, and overall operational support. These efforts ensured a seamless and successful inauguration event.
