Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc has recorded another milestone in its operations with the signing of a comprehensive ground handling agreement with Air Algérie, the flag carrier of Algeria.

This new contract entrusts SAHCO with providing full ground handling services for Air Algérie’s twice-weekly flights between Abuja and Algiers.

The contract marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between the Nigerian aviation services giant and one of Africa’s prominent airlines, covering a wide range of support services.

These include ramp handling, passenger services, baggage and cargo handling, aircraft cleaning, and other essential ground operations.

Commenting on the development, Mrs. Adenike Aboderin, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of SAHCO, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration.

“We are thrilled to partner with Air Algérie on this important venture,” she said. “This contract win reflects the trust and confidence that Air Algérie has in our capabilities. We are committed to delivering the highest quality of service to support their operations, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient ground handling for their flights.”

The services will be carried out at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, where SAHCO’s well-trained personnel and state-of-the-art equipment are positioned to ensure seamless and efficient aircraft turnarounds.

With this development, SAHCO adds Air Algérie to its impressive portfolio of international clients, further reinforcing its reputation as a reliable and top-tier ground handling service provider in Nigeria.

The company has consistently demonstrated dedication to safety, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

The agreement also aligns with SAHCO’s strategic vision of expanding its operational footprint across Africa.

By facilitating smoother connectivity between Nigeria and Algeria, the partnership is expected to boost economic relations and promote tourism between both nations.

Air Algérie, wholly owned by the Government of Algeria, operates an extensive network of international and domestic flights across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. With its headquarters in Algiers, the airline plays a key role in connecting Algeria to major global destinations.

As part of its duties, SAHCO oversees all ground-related activities from the moment an aircraft lands until it takes off again, ensuring these tasks are conducted safely, swiftly, and with the deployment of appropriate tools and technology.

The contract with Air Algérie is yet another testament to SAHCO’s commitment to operational excellence and its growing influence in the African aviation handling landscape.
