SERVICOM Commends NCAA with Four-Star Rating for Service Delivery, Professional Standards

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has received strong commendation from the Service Compact (SERVICOM) Presidency Office following a comprehensive assessment of its operations, with the agency earning a four-star service compliance rating in the 2025 evaluation exercise.

The commendation was delivered on 18 February 2026 at the Authority’s corporate headquarters in Abuja, where a delegation led by Acting National Coordinator Helen Lawal formally presented Service Compliance Evaluation (SCE) reports covering eight regional and station offices of the aviation regulator.

According to the evaluation, the NCAA recorded notable performance scores across key service indicators, achieving 75 per cent in effective service delivery, 70 per cent in timeliness, 72.5 per cent in information management, 72.5 per cent in professionalism, and 62.5 per cent in staff attitude.

The assessment team commended all eight locations visited during the exercise, noting consistent adherence to service standards and operational procedures.

Receiving the report, Director-General of Civil Aviation Chris Najomo expressed appreciation for the thorough evaluation and pledged that the Authority would act on the recommendations outlined.

He assured the delegation that the NCAA remains committed to continuous improvement in service quality and stakeholder satisfaction across all its operational offices.

The SERVICOM delegation conducted its evaluation across several strategic NCAA facilities, including the corporate headquarters, regional offices, and selected station offices such as the one at Sam Mbakwe International Airport, among others. The review forms part of ongoing federal efforts to strengthen accountability, transparency, and efficiency in public service delivery.

In her remarks, Lawal reaffirmed SERVICOM’s readiness to collaborate closely with the aviation regulator, describing the partnership as essential to enhancing service standards for citizens and industry stakeholders alike. She emphasised that constructive engagement between oversight bodies and agencies is critical to institutional reform and sustained excellence.

Senior NCAA officials present at the meeting provided clarifications and professional insights into issues raised in the report, underscoring management’s openness to scrutiny and reform.

The session, observers noted, reflected a shared commitment between both institutions to deepen service culture, improve responsiveness, and align operations with global best practices.

Industry analysts say the positive rating reinforces the NCAA’s standing as a regulatory body striving to modernise administrative systems and strengthen consumer-focused aviation governance, even as it continues to implement reforms aimed at raising operational efficiency and public trust.
