As the NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition approaches the end of its first phase, the fifth state Kano, Nigeria, has set an unprecedented standard for hair styling using Darling hair extensions.

This latest round, held in the vibrant “Emirate City,” has showcased the most impressive styles since the competition began in June 2024 in Ondo, Delta, Anambra, and Edo states.

In Kano, stylists arrived well-prepared and ready to compete across three venues, demonstrating remarkable creativity and skills.

Their efforts culminated in breathtaking hairstyles that celebrated the beauty of the African woman. The venues included Ugah Hall on Emir Road in Sabongari on July 22nd, Kedah Hall on Church Road on July 24th, and Husainah Hall in Badawa Layout on July 25th, 2024.

Each event was marked by an overwhelming attendance, with their undivided attention to the flame retardant and braiding tests.

The stylists’ meticulous attention to details and enthusiasm for the lecture sessions were evident in the question and answer sessions.

The standout performances in Kano have produced exceptional hairstyles that surpassed previous rounds with the talented stylists now set to represent their areas in the finals later in the year.

The competition has not only highlighted their artistic capabilities but also demonstrated the potential for small-scale business owners, such as salon and braid shop operators, to thrive.

Organised by NASHCO and powered by the Japanese fibre giant KANEKALON, the 2024 NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition aims to improve on the knowledge of Duchess products awareness about its qualities like, the hot water set, ultra light, easy to braid and flame Retardant for the local stylists in the hair care trade in Kano state.

By providing a platform for braiders to grow and succeed, the competition supports the development of a robust market for hair styling products and services.

KANEKALON’s sponsorship has been instrumental in this success, and the company is excited about the future prospects for the competition.

They are committed to continuing their support and expanding these events across Nigeria, ensuring that more stylists can benefit from this opportunity and represent their communities as ambassadors of their craft.
