Strategic Leadership of FAAN, others Transforming Nigeria’s Aviation Sector – Kana
The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr Kana Ibrahim, has lauded the transformative strides within Nigeria’s aviation sector, attributing the success to visionary leadership at both the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
During his inaugural visit to FAAN’s headquarters following his redeployment to the ministry, Dr Ibrahim commended the Managing Director/CEO of FAAN, Olubunmi Kuku, for spearheading critical reforms that have enhanced operational efficiency and service delivery across the nation’s airports.
In his remarks, Dr Ibrahim highlighted the pivotal role of leadership in shaping the aviation sector’s trajectory, describing Kuku’s managerial acumen as a key factor in achieving the agency’s recent milestones. “The ongoing reforms at FAAN are a testament to the dedication and expertise of its leadership,” he stated.
The Permanent Secretary also praised the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, for his proactive policies and dynamic leadership.
According to Dr Ibrahim, the minister’s strategic vision has fostered an enabling environment for innovation and growth in the aviation industry.
Reflecting on the collaborative efforts between the ministry and FAAN, Dr Ibrahim reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the agency in sustaining the momentum of development.
He underscored the critical importance of personnel training as a cornerstone of the ongoing reforms, urging FAAN’s management to prioritise the development of a sustainable and comprehensive training framework for staff.
“The aviation sector demands constant innovation and expertise,” Dr Ibrahim noted. “I urge everyone to think outside the box and contribute to improving the system. Together, we can elevate Nigeria’s aviation industry to global standards.”
