Stylists Impress at NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition in Abia State

The recently concluded NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition 2024, held in Abia State, witnessed a remarkable turnout of stylists, showcasing exemplary skill and creativity across the three preliminary stages. 

The NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition event with partners X- Pression and powered by Kanekalon, the renowned Japanese hair fibre giant, drew widespread participation at its first venue at Crest Hotel on Margaret Avenue, Aba, and its final event at Spring Hotel, Aba.

Stylists and enthusiasts flocked to the competition, ensuring punctuality and active engagement, which contributed to the smooth and timely conclusion of the event. 

However, day two of the competition faced a logistical challenge as it coincided with the visit of the First Lady of Abia State to Ugbakala Local Government Headquarters. 

Due to this, the competition’s venue had to be relocated to the local government town hall, resulting in a significant reduction in both the attendance and performance of stylists, as many had opted to attend the First Lady’s welcome.

Despite this setback, the event maintained its momentum with a series of engaging activities that captivated participants and onlookers alike. 

Highlights included demonstrations of advanced hair techniques such as the Braid, Flame Retardant tests, and Aquatex displays, which garnered much attention from the stylists present. 

The workshops provided invaluable insights into hair care and styling, equipping participants with new skills to enhance their craft.

The organisers expressed minimal concerns, lauding the stylists for their professionalism and skill, particularly in the braiding category, which saw impressive displays of technique and creativity. 

Winners of the state-level competition in Abia have now qualified for the national finals, which are set to take place in October 2024, where they will contend for the ultimate prize in the prestigious hair creativity contest.
