TAAG Angola Airlines expands connectivity with increased flights to São Paulo

In a strategic move to enhance travel options and meet growing demand, TAAG Angola Airlines has announced an increase in its weekly flights between Luanda, Angola, and São Paulo, Brazil, starting December 11, 2023.

In a statement made available to TW, the airline said it will boost the frequency of its Luanda-São Paulo route to six weekly flights, providing passengers with increased mobility options.

According to the airline, this expansion is a response to the rising transatlantic demand for travel between Latin America, Africa, and Europe, catering to a diverse range of passengers, including tourists, families, and corporate travelers.

The increased flights aim to facilitate seamless travel across these continents, as São Paulo and Luanda serve as crucial connection hubs.

Notably, São Paulo plays a pivotal role for TAAG Angola Airlines as a gateway to numerous domestic destinations in Brazil and Latin America.

This is made possible through a codeshare agreement signed between TAAG and GOL in April of this year.

Operated by a Boeing 777-300 aircraft, the Luanda/São Paulo route will feature daily flights (excluding Wednesdays) starting December 11.

This move reflects TAAG’s commitment to meeting market demand and continually improving customer service and connectivity.

Founded in 1938 and headquartered in Luanda, Angola’s capital city, TAAG Angola Airlines boasts over 80 years of connecting Angolans with key domestic and international markets.

TAAG has expanded its network to include 12 domestic and 13 international destinations.

The statement: “TAAG Angola Airlines will provide greater mobility options to its passengers and customers by increasing to 6 weekly flights the Luanda (Angola) – São Paulo (Brazil) connection, effective December 11, 2023.

“More than a point-to-point link, São Paulo and Luanda are connection hubs between Latin America, Africa, and Europe, with growing transatlantic demand for passengers, from tourists, families, and corporate segments.

“Thus, São Paulo is a strategic route for TAAG Angola Airlines, as a gateway to multiple domestic destinations in Brazil and Latam due to the codeshare agreement signed between TAAG and GOL in April, this year.

“The Luanda/São Paulo route is operated by a Boeing 777-300 aircraft, with daily flights (excluding Wednesdays), from December 11, ahead.

“TAAG is committed to continually improving customer service and connectivity complying with market demand.”
