United Nigeria Airlines Extends Relief to Ogidi Flood Victims, Donates N5 Million, Food

Over 200 Families Benefit as Airline Reaffirms Its Humanitarian Commitment

United Nigeria Airlines has brought renewed hope to flood-ravaged communities in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, with a N5 million donation and the distribution of vital food and relief materials to affected families.

The devastating flood, which submerged homes and farmlands across Ire, Abor, and Ezi Ogidi villages, displaced hundreds of residents and left behind widespread destruction.

Responding to the humanitarian crisis, United Nigeria Airlines, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, intervened to provide both immediate relief and emotional encouragement to over 200 households.

Leading the humanitarian outreach, the Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines and Founder of the Pro-Value Humanity Foundation, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, OFR, expressed deep empathy for the victims and called for collaborative efforts to address the recurring menace of flooding in parts of the country.

“We are here to share in your pain and bring comfort in this difficult time,” Prof. Okonkwo said during the relief distribution. “Our donation is a modest contribution to help ease your suffering and restore hope. At United Nigeria Airlines, we believe that success means nothing if it does not touch lives.”

He further explained that United Nigeria Airlines was founded not only to connect people across cities but also to stand as a pillar of compassion and social responsibility within the communities it serves.

“We are committed to giving back to society in meaningful ways. Beyond aviation, we are passionate about uniting hearts and uplifting those in need,” he added.

The outreach exercise brought visible relief and joy to the beneficiaries, many of whom described the airline’s gesture as timely and lifesaving. With tears of gratitude, residents thanked Prof. Okonkwo and the airline’s management for their kindness and for remembering them in their moment of despair.

Local community leaders also commended United Nigeria Airlines for its consistent demonstration of empathy and its efforts to bridge the gap between corporate institutions and the people they serve.

The intervention not only provided physical aid but also rekindled a sense of unity and resilience among the people of Ogidi.

As residents returned home with food supplies and renewed hope, the message was unmistakable – compassion can rebuild what disaster destroys.
