Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, has lauded the leadership of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) under the Acting Director General, Captain Chris Najomo, for its impressive strides in ensuring the safety of the nation’s aviation sector.

During a courtesy visit to the DG in Abuja, Governor Zulum emphasised that the achievements of the sector are deeply rooted in Najomo’s foresight and managerial skills.

The governor highlighted that since Captain Najomo assumed office, Nigeria’s aviation sector has seen significant improvements, particularly in compliance with flight regulations and addressing safety concerns.

These developments, according to Zulum, have contributed to building investor confidence in the industry, with Nigeria continuing to attract substantial investment despite ongoing challenges.

“The progress we are witnessing in the aviation sector is no coincidence. Every day, we see advancements in various aspects of the industry, which can be attributed to the leadership at the helm of the civil aviation authority.

“With the right person in the right position, success becomes inevitable. I commend the DGCA and his team for their remarkable work and urge them to continue flying the flag high,” Zulum remarked.

Zulum further expressed optimism about the sector’s future, noting that with the federal government’s commitment to repositioning the industry and Captain Najomo’s leadership, the aviation sector is poised for unprecedented growth in the coming years.

In response, Captain Najomo reaffirmed the NCAA’s dedication to maintaining global standards in aviation. He noted that while his focus remains on improving the “Ease of doing business,” safety remains the top priority.

“Our goal is for the Nigerian aviation industry to compete favourably with the best globally, without ever compromising on safety,” Najomo stated.

Captain Najomo also expressed solidarity with Governor Zulum over the recent flooding incident in Borno State, commending the governor for his leadership and effective handling of the crisis.

Both leaders engaged in discussions on areas of mutual interest that would benefit both Borno State and the NCAA, further strengthening collaboration between the state and the aviation authority.
