ACG Charles Orbih Assumes Leadership of Nigeria Customs Service Zone ‘A’ Headquarters in Lagos
Tuesday, 10th December 2024 marked a significant transition at the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Zone ‘A’ Headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos, as Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) of Customs, Charles Orbih, officially assumed duty as the new Zonal Coordinator.
In his inaugural address, ACG Orbih reaffirmed his dedication to fortifying the zonal operations through a strategic focus on teamwork, innovation, and enhanced stakeholder engagement.
He highlighted his alignment with the overarching policy direction of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, who has prioritised consolidation, collaboration, and innovation in the service.
“Zone ‘A’ remains a critical hub in our national operations, and I am committed to driving excellence through a collaborative approach. Together, we will achieve greater efficiency and contribute significantly to the Nigeria Customs Service’s vision,” Orbih stated during his address.
ACG Orbih brings a wealth of experience spanning decades to his new role.
His previous assignments include serving as Customs Area Controller for the Imo/Abia Command and Zonal Coordinator for Zone ‘C’. A seasoned professional, he has honed his expertise through participation in various leadership and management courses both within Nigeria and internationally.
His appointment is expected to usher in a new era of enhanced performance for Zone ‘A’, which is widely regarded as the flagship zone of the Nigeria Customs Service.
Orbih’s leadership is anticipated to not only strengthen operational efficiency but also deepen collaborations with stakeholders critical to the service’s mandate.
The event was graced by senior officials, stakeholders, and members of the Zone ‘A’ team, who welcomed the new Zonal Coordinator with enthusiasm and optimism.
Superintendent of Customs Akanineyene Edeminam, the Zonal Public Relations Officer, assured the public of seamless communication under ACG Orbih’s leadership, reaffirming the zone’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
As the curtain rises on ACG Orbih’s tenure, all eyes are on Zone ‘A’ to see how his leadership will steer the region towards achieving new milestones in service delivery and revenue generation.
