NDLEA Declares Four ‘Barryshine’ Drug Cartel Members Wanted Over Cocaine Trafficking to Saudi Arabia, Qatar
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared four key associates of notorious Lagos drug kingpin, Alhaji Suleiman Aremu Ganiu, also known as ‘Barryshine’ or ‘Ejeoto,’ wanted for their involvement in multiple drug trafficking operations.
The move follows a court order granted by Honourable Justice Akintayo Aluko of the Federal High Court in Lagos, permitting the NDLEA to issue a public notice declaring the suspects wanted. The individuals in question are:
Olarenwaju Ramon Abdulai (a.k.a Alhaji Loyingbo)
Oluwafemi Akande Abidoye (a.k.a Igbono, Baba Eje, Ade Iwaya, Femi Iwaya)
Olumuyiwa Olufemi Ilori (a.k.a Murphy)
Alate Kafy Bakare Bukki of Kaffy Travels
The Federal High Court’s ruling on Tuesday, 28th January 2025, granted the NDLEA’s request under charge no: FHC/L/731C/2024 to publicly declare the four individuals wanted.
The court ordered their photographs to be conspicuously displayed, as they remain at large for their roles in drug trafficking activities linked to ‘Barryshine.’
Barryshine, who is currently facing multiple criminal charges before a Federal High Court in Lagos, was arrested on 26th August 2024 after being on the NDLEA’s watchlist for two years.
The agency had been tracking his involvement in four failed attempts to smuggle cocaine to Saudi Arabia and Qatar through Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, between 2022 and 2024.
Several of his drug couriers had previously been apprehended, prosecuted, and convicted, while he, as the Managing Director and CEO of Barryshine Suleiman Nigeria Ltd, is now standing trial.
The NDLEA has called on members of the public to provide any information on the whereabouts of the four wanted individuals.
