Overland Airways Resumes Flight Services to Warri with Brand-New Embraer Jets

Nigeria’s longest-serving private domestic airline, Overland Airways, has officially resumed scheduled flight operations to Warri, Delta State, from Lagos and Abuja, with effect from Tuesday, 20 May 2025.
The relaunch marks a strategic addition to the airline’s growing domestic network, aimed at boosting regional connectivity and supporting socio-economic development in the Niger Delta region.
The carrier will now operate the Warri-Lagos-Warri and Warri-Abuja-Warri routes thrice weekly — on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays — offering convenient morning departures and arrivals.
According to the schedule, flights will depart Lagos for Warri at 8:15am, with the return leg from Warri to Lagos taking off at 12:30pm. Meanwhile, passengers travelling from Warri to Abuja will depart at 9:25am, while flights from Abuja to Warri are scheduled for 11:05am.
In a statement, Chief Operating Officer of Overland Airways, Mrs Aderonke Emmanuel-James, said the airline’s return to Warri was driven by the demand from loyal passengers seeking reliable air travel links between Warri, Abuja, and Lagos.
“Overland Airways’ resumption of flight services to Warri is in response to the yearnings of our customers for reliable air transport to connect the city and its environs with Abuja and Lagos,” Mrs Emmanuel-James stated.
“This flight will support important economic and social linkages between the people of Delta State and other parts of Nigeria. Passengers on the Warri service can connect seamlessly across our network to destinations in Northern and Southwestern Nigeria,” she added.
To further enhance the travel experience, Overland Airways is deploying its brand-new Embraer E-175 jet aircraft on the Warri route. The modern jet features both Premium and Economy Class cabins, signifying the airline’s commitment to superior service and passenger comfort.
This latest expansion comes on the heels of recent network enhancements, including the restoration of flights from Lagos and Abuja to Jalingo, Taraba State, and the launch of new services to Minna, Niger State. The Warri service is the most recent addition, with more destinations expected to be unveiled in the coming months.
“We have commenced with three weekly flight services from Warri to Abuja and Lagos with plans to scale up the services to a daily operation in the coming weeks,” Mrs Emmanuel-James added. “We express our appreciation to the Management and Staff of Osubi Airport for their support and assure our customers of the consistent and reliable flight services that Overland Airways is noted for.”
Overland Airways has evolved from operating an all-turboprop fleet to a more versatile fleet with the recent introduction of Embraer E175 jets.
The airline also renewed its IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) certification for the fifth consecutive time in October 2024, further solidifying its reputation as one of Africa’s safest and most dependable carriers.
With its commitment to safety, modernisation, and improved connectivity, the airline continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of regional aviation in Nigeria.
