United Nigeria Airlines Launches Direct Flights to Accra, Strengthens Regional Connectivity

Airline makes historic entry into West African market with Lagos and Abuja routes to Ghana

United Nigeria Airlines has officially announced the commencement of its first-ever regional flights, connecting Nigeria directly to Ghana. Beginning 10 November 2025, the airline will operate non-stop services from Lagos and Abuja to Kotoka International Airport, Accra, marking a bold step in its strategic expansion plan across West Africa.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the airline described the development as a “landmark achievement” that underscores its commitment to bridging connectivity gaps within the region.

Speaking on the milestone, Mazi Osita Okonkwo, Chief Operating Officer of United Nigeria Airlines, said the launch of the Accra route is a significant addition to the airline’s growing operations and a major step towards becoming a leading player in regional aviation.

“Ghana is an important part of our regional growth plan. This marks our first operation outside Nigeria, and we are truly excited about it,” Okonkwo stated. “In just four years, United Nigeria Airlines has earned a solid reputation for safety, regulatory compliance, excellent customer service, and on-time performance. These values will continue to guide us as we extend our wings beyond Nigeria.”

He further emphasised that the new service is designed to promote greater interaction between the peoples of Nigeria and Ghana while offering travellers more convenient and affordable flight options.

“Our mission has always been about uniting people, cultures, and aspirations. The Accra route embodies that mission — to connect lives and opportunities through efficient, safe, and reliable flight operations,” Okonkwo added.

The airline revealed that tickets for both Lagos–Accra–Lagos and Abuja–Accra–Abuja flights are now available for purchase through its online booking portal and accredited travel agents.

United Nigeria Airlines also announced plans to expand its domestic network with new routes, including Abuja–Sokoto and Ilorin, set to begin operations in November.

Since its inception, the airline has grown steadily, connecting major Nigerian cities and offering passengers a dependable travel experience.

With the commencement of the Accra service, United Nigeria Airlines takes a major leap towards becoming a key connector across African skies, flying the Nigerian flag proudly into the regional market.
