Air Peace Repatriates 268 More Nigerians from South Africa, Total Evacuees Rise to 801

Air Peace has successfully completed its third humanitarian evacuation operation from South Africa, airlifting 268 Nigerians back to the country in collaboration with the Federal Government, further reinforcing its role in emergency humanitarian interventions and citizen repatriation efforts.

The latest evacuation flight, operated with the airline’s Boeing 777-200 wide-body aircraft, arrived in Nigeria on Thursday, marking another milestone in the government’s ongoing initiative to facilitate the voluntary return of Nigerians affected by recent xenophobic tensions in South Africa.

The successful operation brings the total number of Nigerians repatriated by Air Peace under the current exercise to 801 across three separate evacuation missions.

Records released by the airline show that the first humanitarian flight on June 11 conveyed 262 Nigerians home, while a second operation conducted on June 30 evacuated 271 others.

The third mission on July 3 returned an additional 268 citizens, completing the latest phase of the evacuation programme.

Air Peace said the repeated deployment of its long-range Boeing 777 aircraft underscores the airline’s operational strength and its readiness to support the Federal Government whenever national emergencies require swift intervention.

The airline described the latest airlift as another demonstration of its enduring commitment to protecting the welfare of Nigerians abroad, stressing that it remains prepared to deploy its resources whenever citizens face crises outside the country’s borders.

It noted that the evacuation exercise reflects its philosophy of going beyond commercial aviation by providing critical humanitarian assistance during periods of uncertainty, conflict and distress.

According to the carrier, the successful completion of the third evacuation mission further strengthens its longstanding partnership with the Federal Government in delivering life-saving interventions and ensuring that stranded Nigerians are safely reunited with their families.

Air Peace also highlighted its growing record in humanitarian aviation, revealing that it has now undertaken more than 16 humanitarian and evacuation missions since the airline began operations.

The missions, it explained, have spanned several African countries and other international destinations, involving emergency evacuations, crisis response operations, disaster relief support and government-backed repatriation exercises.

The airline said these operations have cemented its reputation as one of Africa’s foremost humanitarian carriers, with its fleet and technical expertise consistently deployed in support of national and regional emergency response efforts.

Reaffirming its commitment to national development and public service, Air Peace pledged to continue partnering with the Federal Government to provide safe, efficient and timely air transport during emergencies.

The airline maintained that, beyond connecting cities and countries through scheduled commercial services, it remains dedicated to connecting Nigerians with safety, hope and the comfort of returning home whenever circumstances demand urgent intervention.
