Air Peace, Allen Onyema Bag NTTSE 2026 Awards for Driving Regional Aviation Growth
Air Peace and its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Allen Onyema, have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to the aviation industry after receiving top honours at the 9th National Tourism Transportation Summit and Expo (NTTSE) 2026.
The airline and its founder were presented with the awards during the Gala Night of the summit held at the Banquet Hall of the NICON Luxury Hotel in Abuja, with the recognition coming ahead of Air Peace’s planned expansion of its regional network through the commencement of flights from Lagos to Bamako, Conakry, Douala and Libreville.
Air Peace was honoured with the Nigeria’s Largest Airline and Regional Expansion Leadership Award, while Dr Onyema received the Aviation Leadership and Continental Connectivity Award in recognition of his role in advancing air transport, promoting regional integration and opening up new economic opportunities across Africa.
The awards highlight the airline’s growing influence in the African aviation sector, where it has continued to expand its operations and improve connectivity between Nigeria and other countries on the continent.
The organisers acknowledged Air Peace’s sustained investment in route development and its efforts to bridge connectivity gaps by providing direct links between key African cities. Speaking on the recognition, the airline’s spokesperson, Efeoghene Osifo-Whiskey, thanked the organisers for the awards, describing them as an important validation of Air Peace’s vision of building a stronger and more connected African aviation industry.

Also speaking, the Chairman’s Special Assistant on Communications, Ms Hawa Alege, said the award presented to Dr Onyema reflected his enduring commitment to using aviation as a platform for fostering African unity and prosperity.
She noted that Dr Onyema had consistently championed initiatives that encourage closer cooperation among African countries through improved air connectivity, stressing that his vision extends beyond commercial success to creating opportunities for trade, investment and cultural exchange.
Alege added that the latest recognition further affirmed the impact of Dr Onyema’s leadership in transforming Air Peace into one of Africa’s most influential airlines.
Since commencing operations, Air Peace has steadily grown from a domestic airline into a major player in African aviation, operating an extensive network of domestic, regional and international routes.
The carrier has also continued to invest in fleet expansion and route development as part of its long-term strategy to improve connectivity across the continent.
Its forthcoming regional services to Bamako, Conakry, Douala and Libreville are expected to strengthen economic and commercial ties between Nigeria and neighbouring countries, while offering passengers more direct travel options within West and Central Africa.
