West Africa’s leading carrier, Air Peace, has strengthened its drive towards operational excellence and global aviation best practices through a strategic collaboration with Dutch Aviation Trainers aimed at enhancing crew training efficiency and technical capacity.

The engagement, held on Wednesday at the airline’s corporate headquarters in Lagos, brought together senior executives from both organisations to discuss expanded pilot training collaboration, particularly for Air Peace’s Boeing 737 NG fleet.

The partnership is expected to further improve pilot proficiency, operational standards, and overall flight safety as the airline continues to expand its domestic, regional, and international operations.

Dutch Aviation Trainers (DAT), a globally recognised Aviation Training Organisation specialising in Boeing and Embraer aircraft training, currently handles the training of Air Peace pilots on the Embraer E1 and E2 aircraft types.

The latest engagement is seen as a continuation of an already established relationship between both organisations, focused on strengthening technical expertise and operational efficiency.

DAT provides comprehensive type-rating programmes and specialised aviation courses designed to equip pilots with advanced operational skills in line with international aviation standards.

The organisation has also trained pilots for major international carriers, including KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and AMAS Airlines Uruguay.

Speaking during the meeting, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Dr Allen Onyema, reiterated the airline’s commitment to sustained investment in human capital development, safety, and continuous professional training.

According to him, the airline remains focused on maintaining world-class operational standards across its rapidly growing fleet and route network.

The Air Peace leadership also explored additional areas of collaboration with the Dutch delegation, including future capacity-building initiatives and advanced aviation training opportunities.

Representing Dutch Aviation Trainers at the meeting were the organisation’s founder and Chief Executive Officer, Captain Paul Ten Hof, alongside Herman, who held discussions with Air Peace executives on expanding the scope of training cooperation.

The partnership reflects Air Peace’s broader strategy of aligning its operations with international best practices while maintaining a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting the airline’s ambitious expansion plans.

The collaboration is also expected to contribute to improved service delivery and enhanced passenger confidence as the carrier continues to position itself as a major aviation player on the African continent.
