Lagos NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition Showcases Best of Nigerian Hair Styling
The NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition, in collaboration with X-Pression, has once again highlighted the remarkable talent within Nigeria’s hairstyling community.
Held across various locations in Lagos State, the three-day event, which began on 30th September 2024, provided a platform for stylists to display their skills and creativity in braiding, while also educating them on the importance of using high-quality products.
Pastor Michael, President of the NASHCO Lagos State Chapter, expressed his sincere appreciation for the stylists and their models, commending their enthusiasm and urging them to remain dedicated as they progressed towards the final stages of the competition.
He emphasised the significance of giving their best effort, not only for the competition but also for the growth of their professional skills.
In her remarks, Alhaja Surat, another prominent NASHCO member, reminded participants of the importance of focus, encouraging them to remain attentive as each day of the competition unfolded.
According to her, such a prestigious event required undivided attention to detail, especially as the competition moved closer to the finale.
The event, which commenced at BSK Event Centre in Egbe, continued at Mende Town Hall, Maryland, on 2nd October 2024, before concluding at Lagoon Event Centre, Ojo, on 4th October 2024.
Each day saw the stylists put forth their utmost creativity, transforming the hair of their models into stunning works of art.
One of the highlights of the three-day event was the interactive sessions led by Charlotte, a representative from Kanekalon.
She engaged the audience with product education, where stylists demonstrated their knowledge and skills, particularly in distinguishing between original Kanekalon products and counterfeit alternatives.
This session was usually followed by a lively question-and-answer segment, with those showcasing exceptional knowledge being rewarded with prizes.
The NASHCO executives expressed their unwavering support for Kanekalon, the Japanese hair giant, acknowledging the company’s contributions towards promoting creativity in the Nigerian hairstyling industry.
They also recognised the representatives from X-Pression, who encouraged stylists to not only enhance their creativity in hairstyling but also improve their marketing skills within the industry.
The competition’s main attraction, however, was the display of models with their newly styled hair.
The models took to the stage, dazzling the audience with their spectacular looks, each receiving X-Pression Ruwa Braids and other prizes as reward for their participation.
To close the three-day event, Charlotte announced the introduction of new products from Kanekalon, including the Dark and Shine Fibre, Quick Dry Fibre, Ruwa Braids, and the X-Pression 72-inch fibre.
She highlighted that X-Pression uses only the highest quality raw fibres from Kanekalon to create their signature braids, reinforcing the company’s commitment to excellence in hairstyling products.
The NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition continues to celebrate and elevate the craft of hairstyling in Nigeria, giving stylists a platform to shine while promoting the use of top-quality products.
