Versat Automobile Set to Bring Chery’s Exeed Premium Brand to Nigeria
Versat Automobile Limited is set to deepen competition in Nigeria’s premium automotive market with the introduction of Exeed, the premium vehicle brand of Chinese automobile manufacturer Chery Automobile, scheduled to make its Nigerian debut in December 2026.
The planned entry is expected to give Nigerian motorists another choice in the premium vehicle segment as demand for vehicles combining advanced technology, distinctive styling, comfort and performance continues to evolve.
Versat Automobile said Exeed would enter the Nigerian market under its global philosophy, “Born for More”, which it described as a mindset for people who reject the ordinary and continually seek greater possibilities in life, career and mobility.
The company said the philosophy would underpin Exeed’s positioning in Nigeria, where it intends to appeal to consumers who increasingly expect more from their vehicles in terms of technology, design, driving experience and overall ownership.
According to Versat, Exeed brings together advanced automotive technology, sophisticated design and a driving experience developed around the requirements of the modern premium vehicle market.
The company said the brand benefits from Chery Automobile’s extensive investment in automotive research and development, allowing it to combine intelligent technologies with contemporary styling and premium mobility features.
Versat described Exeed as a brand positioned at the intersection of sophisticated design, intelligent technology and contemporary premium mobility, adding that these attributes were considered particularly relevant to Nigeria’s increasingly discerning automotive consumers.
Christopher Irumudomon, General Manager, Sales, Versat Automobile Limited, said the company was excited about bringing the premium marque into the country.
“The arrival of Exeed represents an exciting new chapter for premium mobility in Nigeria,” Irumudomon said.
He added: “We are looking forward to introducing Nigerians to a brand that challenges convention, embraces exploration, and is truly ‘Born for More’.”
Irumudomon said the arrival of Exeed would represent more than the introduction of another vehicle brand, describing it as an opportunity to present Nigerian consumers with a different approach to premium motoring.
He explained that Exeed was created by Chery Automobile around a vision centred on intelligent technology, sophisticated design and exceptional driving experiences. “The exploration starts now,” he said.
According to him, Exeed combines advanced automotive technology with distinctive design and a forward-looking approach to premium mobility, while maintaining the brand’s emphasis on exploration and pushing beyond conventional expectations.
He also described the Nigerian launch as the coming together of two brands – Exeed and Versat – which he said would create value for customers in the Nigerian market.
The launch comes as Nigeria’s automotive market continues to develop, with consumers having access to a broader range of vehicles from established international manufacturers as well as emerging Chinese brands.
Chinese automotive manufacturers have increasingly expanded their presence across African markets, competing on technology, equipment levels, pricing, design and after-sales support.
Against this backdrop, Versat said Exeed would seek to establish a distinct position in Nigeria’s premium segment rather than compete solely on vehicle availability.
The company said the brand’s proposition would centre on the integration of technology, design and driving experience, supported by Chery’s research and development capabilities.
Versat has not yet disclosed the specific Exeed models that will be available at the December launch or provided detailed information on their Nigerian pricing, specifications and powertrain options.
However, the company said it would release more information in the months preceding the official debut.
The additional information is expected to cover the technology incorporated into the vehicles, the design philosophy behind the brand and its performance capabilities.
Versat said the disclosures would form part of its build-up to the official Nigerian launch and provide prospective customers with a clearer understanding of what Exeed will offer in the local market.
For Versat Automobile, the Exeed launch also represents an expansion of its footprint in Nigeria’s automotive industry.
The company was established in 2024 with the stated objective of delivering reliable and value-driven mobility solutions tailored to the Nigerian market.
It made its Nigerian market debut in 2026 with C&C Trucks, with its operations focused on performance, durability, quality, reliability and customer support.
The planned introduction of Exeed will therefore broaden the company’s portfolio from the commercial vehicle space into the premium passenger automobile market.
Versat said its approach was centred on understanding the needs of the Nigerian market and delivering products backed by strong customer support.
That support could prove important in the premium segment, where customers typically consider not only the initial cost and specification of a vehicle but also maintenance, availability of parts, technical support, warranty arrangements and long-term ownership experience.
With the Exeed launch scheduled for December, Versat Automobile is expected to use the coming months to build awareness around the brand and its products.
The company said its communication campaign would provide prospective customers with more information about the technology, design and performance characteristics of Exeed ahead of the formal unveiling.
For Nigeria’s premium automotive market, the arrival of another international marque is likely to increase the range of choices available to consumers while placing greater pressure on existing players to differentiate themselves through product quality, technology, pricing and after-sales service.
Versat believes Exeed’s combination of Chery’s research and development capabilities and its premium positioning will give the brand a strong platform as it enters the Nigerian market.
For the company, the December debut is not simply a new product launch but the beginning of what it hopes will become a long-term presence for Exeed in Nigeria.
With its “Born for More” philosophy, the brand is seeking to position itself as an alternative for Nigerian motorists looking beyond conventional premium motoring – and Versat Automobile is betting that the combination of technology, design and performance will find a receptive market.
