The event, widely known as “A Day With Nigerian Maritime Students,” will take place on June 10, 2026, at the Mission to Seafarers, Marine Road, Apapa, Lagos, bringing together key stakeholders from across the nation’s maritime industry to discuss the future of the sector and the role of young people in its development.

According to the organisers, Platforms Communications, Captain Enisuoh will speak on the theme, “The Youth and the Future of Nigerian Maritime Sector: Understanding How Nations Develop Their Maritime Industry.”

Currently serving as Executive Director, Operations and Technical at Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Enisuoh is regarded as one of the foremost authorities in maritime safety, shipping development and infrastructure protection within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

His professional career spans more than two decades across the maritime, aviation and national security sectors. He possesses a Master Mariner Class 1 Unlimited Foreign Going Licence, an Aircraft Pilot’s Licence and a Diploma in Aviation.

His educational and professional training took him through several institutions, including the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron; the Arab Maritime Transport Academy in Egypt; the Australian Maritime College of the University of Tasmania; Tasmanian Aviation College; and the Swiss Air Training Centre in Zurich.

Over the years, the seasoned maritime professional has accumulated extensive international experience. He spent eight years with Pacific International Lines in Singapore and six years with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).

During his time in Australia, he also served as a lecturer, instructor, course developer and examiner at the Australian Maritime College.

Back in Nigeria, Enisuoh played key roles in advancing the maritime sector during his service at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), where he held the positions of Director of Maritime Safety and Director of Shipping Development.

The conference will also feature a high-level panel discussion expected to attract leading figures from various segments of the maritime industry.

The panel session will be moderated by Captain Dr Fola Ojutalayo, a marine surveyor and senior lecturer at the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology.

Participants are expected from a broad spectrum of the industry, including regulators, shipowners, local content specialists, technical experts, legal practitioners, operators and academics.

Among the organisations expected to be represented are the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), the Shipowners Association of Nigeria (SOAN), the Nigerian Shipowners Association (NISA), the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), NLNG Shipping and Marine Services Limited, and the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron.

Organisers noted that over the past 10 years, AMSAY has grown into an important platform for stakeholder engagement, policy discussions and youth advocacy in Nigeria’s maritime sector.

According to them, the conference has consistently promoted conversations centred on industry reforms, capacity building, innovation and sustainable growth, while providing opportunities for interaction between students and industry leaders.

Meanwhile, the organisers announced that the conference date had been moved from May 27 to June 10, 2026, to accommodate the Ileya (Eid al-Adha) celebrations and ensure wider participation.

Explaining the decision, they stated that the adjustment was necessary to enable Muslim participants to fully observe the festivities before attending the conference.

The organisers expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the rescheduling and disclosed that formal notifications had already been sent to maritime institutions, government agencies, private sector stakeholders and invited participants ahead of the new date.

They reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a successful 10th anniversary edition of the conference and strengthening discussions aimed at shaping the future of Nigeria’s maritime industry through youth engagement and collaboration among stakeholders.
