ABC Transport Rolls Out 2026 Luxury Coaches in Major Fleet Modernisation Drive
ABC Transport Plc has commenced an ambitious Group-wide Fleet Renewal Programme with the introduction of the first batch of its brand-new 2026-model luxury coaches, reinforcing its commitment to safer, smarter and more comfortable road transportation across Nigeria.
The company said the latest investment marks the beginning of a comprehensive fleet modernisation initiative designed to improve customer experience, enhance operational efficiency and strengthen safety standards across its passenger transport and logistics businesses.
The arrival of the new coaches represents the first phase of the programme for the company’s Travel Division, with additional luxury buses expected to be delivered before the end of the year.
According to ABC Transport, the new generation of coaches has been built to meet international standards in safety, environmental sustainability and passenger comfort, while supporting the company’s long-term strategy of maintaining a modern and reliable fleet.
The luxury coaches are equipped with a range of advanced technologies aimed at improving both safety and convenience.
Each passenger seat comes with a dedicated USB charging port, while the vehicles are fitted with high-definition closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance systems and GPS-enabled real-time tracking to enhance security and fleet monitoring.
To further improve road safety, the coaches are also equipped with electronically controlled speed limiters designed to prevent over-speeding and ensure compliance with approved speed regulations.
ABC Transport said the new buses will initially be deployed on some of its busiest intercity routes, particularly its night services linking Lagos and Abuja as well as Lagos and major cities in the South-East, including Owerri and Aba.
In addition to scheduled passenger operations, the coaches will also be available for corporate transportation, government assignments and private charter services.
The fleet renewal programme is not limited to the company’s luxury coach operations. ABC Transport disclosed that it has also placed orders for the latest-generation Toyota Hiace buses to upgrade its popular Sprinter Service.
The new minibuses, expected to arrive in the coming months, are designed to improve short- and medium-distance travel by offering greater passenger comfort, enhanced safety features, better fuel economy and increased service reliability.
Commenting on the development, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABC Transport Plc, Mr Jude Nneji, said the fleet renewal programme reflects the company’s long-term vision of sustaining its leadership in Nigeria’s road transportation industry.

According to Nneji, the investment goes beyond replacing ageing vehicles, as it is focused on building the future of mobility while improving customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Beyond passenger transport, ABC Transport said the modernisation programme also covers its logistics and haulage businesses as part of a broader strategy to upgrade assets across all its subsidiaries.
The company revealed that its logistics arm, ABC Cargo Express Limited, has recently expanded its fleet through the acquisition of modern Forland trucks of different capacities to strengthen nationwide cargo distribution, freight transportation and last-mile delivery services.
Similarly, the Haulage Division has taken delivery of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered heavy-duty trucks to support cleaner transport operations, lower fuel costs and reduce the environmental impact of its logistics activities.
ABC Transport described the investments as one of the most significant fleet renewal exercises undertaken by the company in recent years, spanning luxury intercity coaches, next-generation Toyota Hiace minibuses, modern cargo trucks and CNG-powered haulage vehicles.
