Again, SAHCO Honoured with British Airways’ Punctuality Award for Outstanding Performance

Skyway Aviation Handling Company PLC (SAHCO) has been awarded the prestigious Punctuality Award by British Airways for its exemplary regularity and safety performance during the first and second quarters of 2024 at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos Station. 

Additionally, SAHCO earned British Airways’ bronze award for meeting its punctuality target of 96% for the second quarter of 2024 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja station. 

Announcing the achievement in a statement signed by Adetola Vanessa Uansohia (Mrs.), Head, Corporate Communications, Skyway Aviation Handling Company PLC (SAHCO) the company said this dual recognition underscores its consistent excellence in service delivery at key airports served by British Airways.

The company further explained that British Airways (BA), the United Kingdom’s flag carrier headquartered near its main hub at London Heathrow Airport, is renowned for its commitment to punctuality, safety, and security. 

SAHCO noted that with over 100 years of experience, its collaboration with BA highlights the importance of excellent partnerships in maintaining high standards of service and operational efficiency.

In a congratulatory letter addressed to Mrs. Adenike Aboderin, Managing Director/CEO of SAHCO, British Airways lauded the Lagos and Abuja teams for their exceptional performance. 

The mega carrier affirmed that the teams successfully met or exceeded the Adjusted Door Closure (aDC) target of 96% each month during the quarter without significant safety events or repeat audit findings. 

This remarkable achievement was sustained for two consecutive quarters at the Lagos station.

The letter emphasised that such accomplishments reflect SAHCO’s unwavering commitment to excellence.

Responding to the awards, Mrs. Adenike Aboderin expressed her pride in the SAHCO team’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of punctuality and safety. 

She noted that the recent comprehensive customer service training for all staff by a reputable training academy has been instrumental in enhancing service delivery. 

“We are thrilled to receive this recognition from British Airways at both our Lagos and Abuja stations. We look forward to continuing this excellence and achieving even greater milestones in the future,” she stated.
