Jetour X90 Plus Takes Centre Stage as Automaker Expands Abuja SUV Drive
Jetour Nigeria is set to step up its campaign for a larger share of Nigeria’s premium SUV market as it brings the seven-seater X90 Plus to the Federal Capital Territory for the Jetour Experience Abuja.
The three-day automotive showcase, scheduled for September 22 to 24, 2026, is expected to provide motorists, prospective buyers, families and motoring enthusiasts in Abuja with an opportunity to experience the X90 Plus and other vehicles in the Jetour line-up.
The event forms part of Jetour Nigeria’s strategy to expand its market reach and strengthen direct engagement with customers outside Lagos, following what the company described as strong interest generated by its previous Jetour Experience in Lagos.
The automaker said the response from the Lagos activation, which included customer enquiries and sales interest, encouraged it to extend the initiative to Abuja.
It added that increasing enquiries from motorists in Abuja and neighbouring states also influenced the decision to take the experience to the Federal Capital Territory.
At the centre of the Abuja showcase is the X90 Plus, a full-sized SUV designed to accommodate seven occupants while combining passenger space with performance, technology and comfort.
The model is being positioned for families and executives seeking a spacious SUV with features associated with higher-end vehicles.
The X90 Plus is available with 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre turbocharged engine options, with the powertrains paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The top powertrain configuration is rated at up to 254 horsepower and 390Nm of torque, giving the SUV the performance credentials to compete in a segment where power, refinement and versatility are key considerations for buyers.
Jetour Nigeria is also highlighting the vehicle’s interior technology as part of its proposition to customers.
The X90 Plus features a 12.3-inch LCD touchscreen infotainment system, providing access to vehicle and entertainment functions, while a Sony premium audio system is intended to enhance the in-car experience.
The SUV also comes with a panoramic sunroof and wireless charging, features increasingly sought by consumers in the premium and upper-mid-market SUV segments. Safety and driver-assistance technologies form another part of the vehicle’s package.
Among the systems available on the X90 Plus are a 360-degree panoramic camera, Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning, alongside electronic stability systems.
Jetour is expected to demonstrate some of these features during the Abuja Experience, allowing potential customers to gain a closer understanding of the vehicle’s capabilities before making purchasing decisions.
The company’s decision to take the X90 Plus to Abuja also reflects the growing importance of the Federal Capital Territory to Nigeria’s automotive market.
Abuja has a substantial population of government officials, business executives, professionals and families, creating a market for vehicles that combine passenger capacity, comfort and technology.
For Jetour, direct customer engagement through an experience-based format provides an opportunity to move beyond conventional vehicle displays by allowing potential buyers to interact with its products.
The company’s expanding presence in Nigeria has also been accompanied by recognition within the country’s motoring industry.
The Nigeria Auto Journalists Association named Jetour Fastest Growing Auto Brand, while the company was also recognised as Auto Brand of the Year at the Nigeria Transport Lecture.
Jetour Nigeria is further relying on an expanding distribution network to support its growth.
The company, which is the sole authorised distributor of Jetour vehicles in Nigeria, currently works with seven accredited dealer partners across the country.
They are Elizade Nigeria Limited, Mandilas Autos, R.T. Briscoe Motors, Germaine Auto Centre, Kojo Motors, Tab Autos Limited and New Era Auto Vehicle Services Limited.
The dealer network is expected to play a role in providing access to Jetour vehicles and supporting customers as the brand expands its footprint.
The Abuja Experience will feature the X90 Plus alongside other Jetour models, giving visitors an opportunity to examine the wider range and engage with representatives of the company.
The event also comes at a time when Nigeria’s SUV market is attracting increasing competition, with manufacturers introducing models designed to appeal to consumers seeking greater ground clearance, passenger capacity, technology and versatility.
Jetour’s approach has been to combine product launches and vehicle showcases with experiential events where customers can inspect and test vehicles.
The Abuja activation is expected to provide the company with another opportunity to gather feedback from motorists, generate new enquiries and strengthen awareness of the Jetour brand in the FCT and surrounding markets.
For the X90 Plus, the company is banking on its seven-seat configuration, turbocharged powertrain options, technology features and safety equipment to attract customers seeking a larger SUV for executive and family transportation.
As the Jetour Experience Abuja opens from September 22, the focus will be on giving prospective customers first-hand access to the X90 Plus and other models while reinforcing the automaker’s wider expansion strategy in Nigeria.
