JustNet Transport Summit Holds Friday, to Address Global Disruptions in Energy, Trade

All arrangements have been concluded for the second edition of the JustNet Transport Summit, scheduled to hold on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Providence Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, with stakeholders expected to examine strategies for strengthening Nigeria’s transportation system amid global economic uncertainties.

The summit, organised by JustAlive Communications Limited, publishers of JustNet News, will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, regulators and private-sector operators from the transportation, energy and trade sectors to discuss emerging challenges and explore opportunities for building a resilient mobility system.

The event is themed, ‘Navigating Global Disruptions and the Road Ahead: Mobility, Energy and Trade Facilitation for a Resilient Future’, reflecting growing concerns over the impact of global economic developments, rising operating costs, energy challenges and changing market conditions on transportation and trade.

Chief Executive Officer of JustAlive Communications Limited, Mrs Pearl Ngwama, said preparations for the summit had been completed, expressing confidence that the gathering would generate meaningful discussions and practical recommendations for the development of Nigeria’s transportation industry.

Ngwama said the summit was designed to provide a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, examine policy options and identify solutions to structural challenges affecting the transport value chain.

According to her, the discussions would focus on the relationship between transportation, energy security and trade facilitation, particularly as businesses and operators contend with changing economic conditions and rising costs.

Among the prominent personalities expected at the event are the chairman of the occasion, Capt. Warredi Enisuoh of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited; transport and aviation expert, Dr Richard Aisuebeogun; energy-sector stakeholder, Thomas Ogungbangbe; and transport industry professional, Femi Aiyegbajeje.

The participation of the experts is expected to bring diverse perspectives to discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing Nigeria’s transportation and related sectors.

The organisers said the summit would also examine the need for stronger collaboration among government agencies, regulators, investors and private-sector operators to address infrastructure gaps, improve operational efficiency and promote sustainable growth across the industry.

Transportation remains critical to Nigeria’s economic development, supporting the movement of people and goods, facilitating domestic and international trade, and connecting businesses to markets.

However, challenges relating to infrastructure, energy costs, logistics efficiency and regulatory coordination continue to influence the performance of the sector.

Against this background, the summit is expected to provide an opportunity for stakeholders to consider measures that could improve the resilience and competitiveness of the country’s transport system while supporting broader economic growth.

The organisers said the discussions would seek to identify practical approaches to strengthening transportation infrastructure, improving energy security and making trade and logistics operations more efficient in the face of global disruptions.

The summit is also expected to encourage partnerships between public institutions and private-sector organisations, particularly in addressing challenges that require coordinated action across different segments of the transport value chain.

Ngwama expressed optimism that the second edition would achieve its objectives by creating opportunities for participants to share experiences, build professional relationships and explore solutions to issues confronting the industry.

She said the organisers were committed to sustaining the summit as a platform for policy dialogue, industry engagement and the exchange of ideas on the future of transportation in Nigeria.

With preparations completed, the organisers expect the gathering to contribute to ongoing conversations about building a more efficient, sustainable and resilient transportation system capable of responding to changing economic conditions and supporting Nigeria’s long-term development goals.
