Carloha Nigeria Launches Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV, Signals Return of Chery Q Electric Vehicle Brand
Carloha Nigeria has officially unveiled the all-new Chery Tiggo 9 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), marking a significant step in the company’s drive to introduce advanced and environmentally friendly mobility solutions into the Nigerian market.
The automobile company also disclosed plans to reintroduce Chery Q, the Chinese automaker’s next-generation new energy vehicle brand, as part of efforts to expand its portfolio of intelligent and sustainable transportation offerings in the country.
The launch ceremony, which took place at Carloha Nigeria’s showroom in Alapere, Lagos, attracted members of the media and industry stakeholders, providing a platform for the company to showcase Chery’s latest flagship sport utility vehicle and its broader vision for future mobility.
According to Carloha Nigeria, the Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV has been engineered to set a new standard in the premium SUV category by blending luxury, intelligent technology, enhanced safety systems and efficient hybrid performance.
The company explained that the vehicle combines the advantages of electric and petrol-powered driving, enabling owners to enjoy improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions, extended driving range and premium comfort.

Speaking during the unveiling, the Managing Director of Chery Central Africa, Mr Hai Wei, described the launch as an important milestone in the company’s journey towards innovation and sustainable mobility.
He noted that the Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV represents the company’s vision of combining cutting-edge technology with environmentally responsible transportation.

Hai Wei stressed that Nigeria occupies a strategic position in Chery’s expansion agenda across the continent, noting that the country’s large and vibrant economy presents enormous opportunities for the adoption of modern mobility solutions.

Also speaking at the event, the Sales Director of Carloha Nigeria, Mr Joseph Omokhapue, said the Tiggo 9 PHEV embodies innovation and offers customers a unique combination of luxury, safety, performance and sustainability.
He explained that the vehicle’s spacious interior, premium comfort features and sophisticated design make it suitable for families, professionals and corporate executives seeking a superior driving experience.
