Lanre Shittu Motors Expands Anti-Financial Crime Campaign with Book Donations to Lagos Schools
Lanre Shittu Motors (LSM) has intensified its campaign against financial crime among young Nigerians with the distribution of educational books to public secondary schools across Lagos State as part of its corporate social responsibility and youth development initiatives.
The automobile company said the initiative is aimed at educating students on the dangers of financial crimes while promoting integrity, hard work and responsible citizenship among the younger generation.
Under the first phase of the programme, the company plans to distribute copies of the book, Clean Hands, Bright Future: A Youth Guide to Avoiding Financial Crime in Africa, to 200 public secondary schools across Lagos. More than 150 schools have already benefited from the initiative.
The campaign began at Kuramo Senior College and Victoria Island Senior Secondary School before expanding to several other schools across the state.
According to the organisers, the book seeks to expose students to the dangers of fraud, cybercrime, identity theft, examination malpractice and other forms of financial crime, while encouraging ethical leadership and lawful means of achieving success.
Speaking on the project, the author of the book, Mr Adedayo Aluko, said the initiative was prompted by the growing involvement of young people in financial crimes and the urgent need to address the challenge through education.
He described education as one of the most effective tools for crime prevention, stressing that young people must understand from an early age that lasting success can only be achieved through honesty and hard work.
“The rate of financial crime among youths is becoming increasingly alarming. We believe education is one of the most effective tools to prevent crime. The message of the book is simple: crime does not pay, and with clean hands, every young person can build a brighter future,” Aluko said.
He explained that the project extends beyond distributing books, revealing that plans are underway to revisit participating schools for interactive enlightenment programmes, career talks and mentoring sessions aimed at reinforcing the values of integrity and responsible living.
According to him, the publication simplifies more than 100 forms of financial crime, making it easier for students to identify offences that many young people unknowingly become involved in. He added that illustrations and practical examples were incorporated to make the lessons engaging and memorable.
Aluko commended Lanre Shittu Motors for supporting the initiative, describing the company’s Managing Director, Mr Taiwo Shittu, as a long-standing advocate of youth development through education and skills acquisition.
He recalled that during the official launch of the programme, Shittu personally presented copies of the book to students and encouraged them to embrace education, vocational skills and diligence as the surest paths to success.
Explaining the company’s involvement, Shittu said Lanre Shittu Motors believes that preventing crime starts with instilling the right values in young people.
He noted that by educating students about the consequences of financial crime and promoting positive character, the company hopes to contribute to the development of responsible citizens capable of making meaningful contributions to society.

Published in May 2026 and endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Clean Hands, Bright Future has been described as a practical resource designed to help young people navigate increasing social and economic pressures while avoiding involvement in financial crimes.
The ongoing distribution exercise forms part of Lanre Shittu Motors’ broader corporate social responsibility agenda, which seeks to inspire a generation that values integrity, honest enterprise and ethical conduct over fraudulent shortcuts.
Beyond the anti-financial crime campaign, the company has maintained a long-standing commitment to youth empowerment through technical education and vocational training.
