Toyota Nigeria Ignites Passion for Innovation as Young Talents Excel at Motor Show Competitions
Toyota Nigeria Limited dedicated the second day of its ongoing Toyota Motor Show in Lagos to nurturing the next generation of innovators, as students and young professionals took part in exciting debate and quiz competitions aimed at promoting automotive knowledge and stimulating interest in the future of mobility.
The youth-oriented activities, held on Wednesday at The Podium, Lekki, drew enthusiastic participants and spectators, creating an atmosphere of healthy competition and intellectual engagement.
Contestants demonstrated remarkable creativity, confidence and critical thinking skills, underlining the growing interest among young Nigerians in technology and innovation.
A major attraction of the day was a lively debate contest between two teams of young participants. Both sides impressed judges and members of the audience with their eloquence and ability to present convincing arguments.
Following a closely contested encounter, Team A, comprising Robinson Goodness, Esabu Blessing and Igbayisemore Tony, emerged winners, edging out Team B made up of Akinware Breakthrough, Yusuf Rahimat and Dawn Ijaware.
The victorious team was rewarded with a cash prize of N600,000, while the second-placed team received N300,000.
The excitement continued with a quiz competition that featured six contestants. The participants battled through several rounds of questions before the contest narrowed to a tense final stage centred largely on Toyota vehicle models and general automotive knowledge.
The audience watched with admiration as the finalists displayed impressive speed and accuracy in answering questions.
At the end of the competition, Feyisetan Tolase Emmanuel claimed the top prize of N250,000 after emerging champion, while Ayorinde Bolarinwa finished as runner-up and received N150,000.
Award-winning actress and social advocate Kate Henshaw, who chaired the panel of judges, commended the contestants for their outstanding performances and eagerness to learn.
She noted that the intelligence, creativity and confidence displayed by the participants offered hope for the future and underscored the importance of investing in young people.
Toyota Nigeria Limited’s Head of Dealer Development and Special Duties, Henry Ojuoko, who also served on the panel, said the initiative reflected the company’s broader vision of encouraging innovation beyond the automobile business.
According to him, Toyota is committed not only to providing quality vehicles but also to inspiring young Nigerians to embrace opportunities in technology, mobility and innovation.
The organisers explained that the second day of the exhibition was intentionally reserved for students and young professionals in order to encourage greater awareness of automotive advancements and promote active youth participation in conversations surrounding the future of transportation.
The event also featured television personality, actor and brand influencer Somadina Anyama, popularly known as Soma, who joined members of the Toyota team during the interactive sessions with participants.
Now in its third edition, the Toyota Motor Show began on June 2 and provides visitors with opportunities to explore the company’s latest range of vehicles, participate in interactive activities, undertake test drives and benefit from free vehicle diagnostic services.

Visitors have also been experiencing Toyota’s latest mobility solutions through test drives of selected models, including the Camry, RAV4 and Hilux.
The exhibition is scheduled to conclude on Saturday with another live recording of Toyota’s PodCARst featuring social media influencer Ride With Mee, alongside entertainment activities, outdoor games, prize presentations and additional test-drive sessions.
Toyota Nigeria said the event reinforces its commitment to strengthening engagement with customers and the wider public through innovation, education and meaningful interaction with the brand.
